1. Who we are
"NSPEC" (also "we", "us", "our") refers to the business operating the website nspec.dev and the related services, based in Ontario, Canada. Privacy-related questions go to info@nspec.dev.
2. What we collect
At this pre-launch stage we collect only what the site asks for plus standard request metadata.
- Waitlist signup. Your email address, a timestamp, and which part of the site you signed up from.
- Email you send us. Anything you put in a message to
info@nspec.dev. - Server logs. Standard request metadata handled by our hosting provider (IP address, user agent, referring URL, response status) retained briefly for abuse protection and then discarded.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies. We do not sell or trade your personal information.
3. Why we collect it
- To add you to the waitlist and notify you when early access opens.
- To answer your direct questions.
- To detect and prevent abuse.
- To comply with applicable law.
4. Legal basis
When you submit your email, you give us express consent to contact you about NSPEC. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing from any email or writing to us. Where applicable, we also rely on legitimate interest to keep the service secure.
5. How long we keep it
- Waitlist email. Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We retain a minimal consent record afterwards to comply with anti-spam record-keeping law.
- Server logs. Short-lived (typically under 30 days) unless required for an active investigation.
- Support email. For as long as needed to resolve the question.
6. Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:
- Confirm what we hold about you.
- Provide a copy in a common machine-readable format.
- Correct inaccuracies.
- Delete it.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Withdraw consent.
Send the request to info@nspec.dev. We respond within 30 days. If you're in Canada and unsatisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information; in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.
7. Service providers
We use a small number of third-party providers to host the site and deliver transactional email. Each is chosen for its privacy and security posture and is bound by its own data-protection commitments, and we use them only for the purposes described here. If you'd like the current list of service providers, email us and we'll share it.
8. International transfers
Our service is operated from Canada. Where personal information moves across borders, we rely on recognized legal mechanisms (including applicable adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses offered by service providers) plus technical safeguards.
9. Security
In plain terms: we minimize what we collect, we transport it over encrypted connections, and we store credentials in a dedicated secret store. If we ever have a security incident affecting your data, we'll notify you without undue delay.
10. Cookies and tracking
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site identifiers. The site sets only the cookies strictly necessary to deliver the page. If that ever changes, we'll publish a proper cookie banner with opt-in consent before any non-essential cookie loads.
11. Children
The service is not intended for and should not be used by people under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
If we materially change how we handle your personal information we'll update the "Last updated" date, post a notice on this page, and — where we have your email — send a message describing what changed.
